why r u running a 4in exhaust on a stock turbo? u know turbo cars need back pressure right?

Sometimes we're right and sometimes we're wrong.

When we're wrong, it proves that we're human and need to strive for a better understanding.

You don't get it. The turbo is the restriction in the system and the turbine works off the pressure differential between the exhaust before and after it.

On a turbo car the turbo is what is producing the torque. Faster spool up means more torque sooner. How do you get faster spool up? FREE FLOWING EXHAUST.

Yeah, When I forgot to plug the Wideband bung on the DP my car sounded like a Ferrari and took of like a cat in a kennel! With the wideband in and still stock exhaust, it is pretty good, but not as fast, at low end but dies above 3500 rpm. My spool is also slower with more restriction.

Guess I'm not the nomal supra driver I want my powerband all across the board which u do need bp for ;)

You're right, you're not the normal supra owner. At least we know back pressure is our enemy. :sarcasm:

If you want more power ALL across the band, run a free flowing exhaust. That causes the turbo to spool faster, which allows you to make power SOONER in the band and keep it longer.

Prove me wrong.

Isn't having a free flowing exhaust one of the first things your supposed to know when upgrading ANY turbo car?

wrong, turbo provides more then enough back pressure.
A turbo car with no exhaust restrictions is ideal. Although a 4in is a bit excessive

You know, for what it's worth, a good driver behind the wheel of an LS1 F-body is a thing to behold. I have yet to lose a race in my 01 SS, but it's a 6 speed and I know how to use the thing. That said, I can't stand the POS car that it happens to be bolted into...
