Has anyone tried fitting a larger diameter pulley on the PS pump on a 1jz ? Would this be called an underdrive pulley? Just thinking if I rev the engine between 7-8k rpms during my autocross runs, the PS pump may wear out sooner due to the high revs. Maybe not a common problem, but I would rather not have to replace that PS pump again!

Thanks!

it will increase the load on your arms, but decrease the load on the pump.

the problem though is never the speed of the pump itself, its the temperature generated by heavy use of the steeeingrack.

I'd install a 8-10 row air-oil cooler with a small fan on the returnline. It keeps the oil cool, and it will lubricate the system so mutch better.
